You did it! You’re booked in & finally ready to update those family photos you had taken way back when (when your family was smaller – in numbers and in height!). But now the big question – what to wear? Here are a few tips & colour palette ideas to get those creative juices flowing!
Coordinate colours – Long gone are the days of everyone wearing black shirts & matching jeans. Instead, choose 3-4 colours and select clothes that will fit into this color scheme.
Look at your home decor – Where will you likely be hanging these photos? Do you like bright colours? Neutrals? These photos will be hanging up in your house or printed in the family album and treasured for years to come. By choosing simple, classic clothes you will help give your images a timeless feel.
Don’t be afraid to accessorize – Accessories are a fun way to add texture your outfit and give your photos just a little bit more (think bold necklaces, scarves, or belts).
Limit patterns, but avoid all black or all white outfits – Not everyone in the picture should wear patterns, as this tends to distract from the final image. However, try to also avoid all black/white outfits as the details are often lost during the editing process.
Hope these little pointers were helpful!
